Vegetables - Courgette and Marrow

Courgette and marrow are the same vegetable. Zucchini is the American name. The French for marrow is courge so a courgetter is a little marrow. And it really is. If you don't harvest a courgette when it is the right size, then it will rapidly grow into a marrow. I must admit that this is why I stopped growing them! But I'm trying again this year.

Regretably the slugs ate it, so the small plant is the only photo I have!

I bought some plants from a garden centre. The slugs ate those too. Finally I bought one plant from Asda. The slugs ate that... but not to the ground. So I left it, and beginning of September, I found it had regrown. I thought that it was too late in the year to produce flowers, let alone courgettes, and maybe the slugs will discover it again. But I was wrong! A courgette appeared beginning of October.
