Edward Atkinson Hornel has painted at least one other painting of lacemakers from Ceylon.
I found this photo of some Sri Lankan lace on the web. Pattern 37 is my attempt to reproduce it. It is mostly a standard Torchon dsign, but there is a different headside. I have called it a Sri Lankan headside (possibly inaccurately) and described it here.
