Description: Follow the links above to see how to work the lace. The wings (the scallops) are coloured by the two worker pairs. There are three starting points - the top of the head, and the tops of the two wings. This leads to a slightly confusing collection of false starting pins!

In fact, this is such a short piece of lace that you can tie off the last two pairs of one scallop before hanging all the pairs of the other scallop, so you could make this with 12 pairs!

The body is half a diamond. There is a row of pins along the bottom. Make sure these go between the threads of each pair. (The worker pair will be by itself, at one end. Tie each pair separately with an overhand knot. I have left quite a long fringe, to indicate part of the angel's body. There are also two pairs at the bottom of each wing, and these are tied with a reef knot, and trimmed much closer.
