It's well known that British biscuits are American cookies (or crackers, if they are for cheese). However, there are American biscuits as well. These are more like British scones. They are savoury, not sweet, and you eat them with gravy poured over. (I've not convinced that gravy means the same thing either.) I've adapted the recipe slightly.
