frying omelette
Cooking process
Break the eggs into the bowl. Whisk with a fork a little to break the yolks.
Melt a little butter in the frying pan. Pour in the eggs. You can cook an omelette for one or two people at a time, but any more, you will have to make them in stages.
While the omelette is cooking, put any other ingredients on top.
Cook until the top of the omelette is set (or still a bit runny, as you prefer). Fold it in half by lifting up one side with a spatula and folding it over. If the omelette is for two people, cut in half again. Lift up with the spatula and serve.
Other ideas
You can just have a simple omelette, or use various fillings. Try grated cheese, or sliced cooked , or even jam (for a sweet omelette).
Omelettes are very quick to cook. Make sure that you have warm plates and laid the table before you start cooking.
Some people prefer well-cooked omelettes, while others feel that the inside should still be runny. If it is partly uncooked, then any germs such as salmonella won't be killed but it will probably taste nicer! It depends how much you trust your eggs.
