Cooking the apple under soft
Cooking process
Peel and core the apples. Cut into chunks.
Put in a saucepan with some water. Add some brown sugar, butter, and spices if you wish.
Cook over a low heat until the apple is soft.

I haven't given amounts in this recipe, as it's quite rough and ready. You could use white sugar, but brown sugar adds more taste.
I used cloves and cinnamon as the spices. You could use anything that would go with apple.
The idea is that the butter and sugar combine to make a toffee taste (although it doesn't end up chewy!)
This came about as a way to use a glut of apples from the garden. Different types of apple cook in different times, and end up looking different. I used a mix of apples, and ended up with soft apple chunks in apple puree. Nothing wrong with that! This is not a glamorous pdding....
