Flowers - Oxalis

Oxalis is a Perennial. These flowered in April-May and also August-September. Possibly at other times of year as well!

These can self-seed. I got a seedling from my mother's garden, and have handed on seedlings to other people. But it doesn't produce massive amounts of seedlings, so a civilised plant. Well, perhaps the colour isn't civilised! Definitely a flower for those who like bright colours.

Oxalis has many varieties. There is an Oxalis weed in my garden - much smaller than this, very attractive with dark brown trefoil leaves and bright yellow flowers. But it has explosive seed heads, and is really rather a nuisance.
