Bedfordshire lace mat
This Torchon edging to a mat has small pieces of fabric with cutwork sewn into the lace itself. (Cutwork means cutting small holes into the fabric and hemming the edges of the hole).
The headside are cloth fans. Then there are half stitch areas with raised tallies (these can only be seen on one side). These areas are joined with tallies.
