Bedfordshire mat
There are half stitch flowers with gimps round, and cloth stitch areas. Plaits with picots join things. There are circles of fabric sewn into the body of the lace edging.
This mat is similar to this one.
This piece is too big to fit in my scanner (which is how I am reproducing the lace) so I can only show part of it on the right. The entire piece is photographed below to show its shape.
