Machine lace mat

This is a good imitation of a bobbin lace mat, but various parts are made in a different way, which shows that this is machine lace.

The middle part of this mat will have been cut out of a larger piece, and the trim sewn on to neaten the rough edge.

There are thinner threads holding the thicker visible threads together. These are visible in the half stitch.

The cloth stitch is also non-standard, with more stitches going one way than the other.
