Mixed tape lace - collar
This was bought on eBay with a seller's description: "Antique Bedfordshire Lace Jabot Collar Hand Made Vintage Textile Trim Costume".
I note that it is careful not to describe itself as bobbin lace! Looking carefully at the piece, it is made of tapes - two different kinds, one with holes in the centre and a thinner one without. The tapes with holes are pinched in to make the petals and leaves. There are fillings to the flowers, added afterwards, and brides to hold it all together.
This piece is too big to fit in my scanner (which is how I am reproducing the lace) so I can only show part of it on the right, but it is symmetrical. The entire piece is photographed below to show its shape.
