Pattern 150 had two cats' heads which did not satisfy me. Here I tried to design a better cat. It is a triangle (roughly) of lace, which is sewn onto fabric to decorate the corner of a mat.
Pattern:

Bobbins: 19 pairs
Style: Torchon
Stitches:
half stitch
cloth stitch
cloth stitch and twist
twist single pair
Details:
solid cloth stitch (red)
vertical and horizontal edge (red)
dot (green)
Torchon ground (grey)
Winkie pin twisted footside (grey)
working a triangle
Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
Read about vertical and horizontal edges to see how to shape the cat. See pattern 150 for how to work the eyes. This cat has no nose or mouth, since these didn't really work in pattern 50.
The pattern is really just a simple strip, but started and finished on diagonals to make it (nearly) into a triangle. Click here to see more about this.
