This is mundillo, or lace from Panama. Click here for more patterns.
These patterns are large scale, to show where the colours go. Reduce the pattern size, if you wish. There are coloured 'blobs' at the top and bottom of the patterns, showing where which coloured pair starts where (which is very important!) I have put these at both ends, so you can work the pattern either the British way, or the other way round.

Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. There are two coloured pairs in each diamond. One pair is the worker pair, and colours the diamond. The other coloured pair is the middle passive pair. It is hidden by the worker pair. That means that the cloth stitch needs to be closely woven. If necessary use thick enough thread, or reduce the size of the pattern.
The coloured pairs travel through the Torchon ground making a pleasing pattern. They also hide as the passives in the Winkie pin twisted footside, swapping over as necessary to bring the right coloured pair into action.
