Description:
The red bits are cloth stitch and the blue bits are half stitch.
This is an irritating pattern. You will find that you can't do a whole zigzag at once. The bottom bit needs one pair from the zigzag below. Do as much as you can, then start the next zigzag for a bit, then return to do the rest of the first zigzag. What's more one of the zigzags is in cloth stitch, and the other in half stitch, so make sure you're doing the right stitch for the zigzag!
This is supposed to look like two ropes twisted round each other. The effect is not very good with such thin zigzags, overlapping so little. But wide zigzags and more overlaps needs more bobbins! See this pattern. However, even with this smaller versiom, you may be able to see the effect by screwing up your eyes a little, or seeing it further away.
