The grid is taken from a roundel - a circle with a hole in the middle. But it's only part of the roundel, so there is no problems in starting or finishing the lace. Really, it is just a straight piece of lace bent into half a circle. The main problem is that the bobbins will lie in different directions while making the lace. It's best to have a "cookie" pillow, if you can find one big enough. I used a block pillow, but the pattern must be carefully positioned on the blocks.

This pattern was done to honour everyone in the NHS, care homes, carers, shop assistants, delivery drivers, and all other essential staff working to help us all in the Covid-19 pandemic. Thank you.
