This is really a Torchon pattern, on a Torchon grid. The scallops, rose ground and twisted footside are typical of Torchon. However there are picots along the edge, and between the scallops pairs are taken into a trail, then released later.
With a Torchon pattern, the narrowest part is the width you would expect from the number of bobbins used. The scallops (or fans) make the width of the lace artifically wider, by bending the pairs outwards. However, in Bucks Point, the widest part is the width you would expect from the number of bobbins used, and you make the width narrower by taqking surplus pairs into a trail. In this pattern, I use both technques, so it is both wider and narrower than you'd expect! I added picots to the scallops to tie the different parts together, but I think they look rather attractive!
