How to do tablet weaving - Interactive pattern designer - Patterns - Theory
Click here to see how to do tablet weaving in real life! This is a simulation for trying out patterns.
Click on a colour to select it. Then click on a hole to thread it. You won't be able to start weaving until all holes are threaded. Select less (or more) tablets if you want. Click on "Unflipped" above a tablet to flip it. Click on arrow to change direction of turn. Click on "Turn and weave" for one line of weaving. The tablets show the current line of weaving. Click on "Current" to change this to Start (useful if you want to print or save the page as a guide to working the pattern).
Please note that only changes of flipped/unflipped or turn clockwise/anticlockwise are shown. This is to make it easier to see what is going on, and when working it, when to change. There is also a small diagram of the tablets for each row. It only shows the position of one hole, marked A, which starts in the top right corner. If the diagram shows the A as white, then you have flipped the tablet.
