Bedfordshire cuffs

There are half stitch buds with raised tallies on top. There are tallies (supposed to be leaves, perhaps), and plaits decorated with picots. A cloth stitch trail divides the pattern. There is a rather sparse nine pin headside and a cloth footside.

This lace came from my aunt Margaret Packe (nee Drake). She said that the older pieces came from her grandmother, Ellen Buchanan (nee Barwise) born 1868.

This is part of a set, with two cuffs (one shown) with 5 motifs within the middle cloth trail, and a collar, shown below. The collar's pattern is very similar to the cuffs, except some of the raised tallies are missing in the centre.
