Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
For the start and end of the lace, the edge (gold) pair are worked in cloth stitch through all other pairs, to give a firm start (and end) and a frame.
The fans are offset from each other, so there are small fans at start and end to fill the gap. The big fans have twisted workers two pairs from the edge. This is to push the outer two pairs outwards, and give a (hopefully) interesting holes in the middle of the fan. However, the workers are not twisted at the start and end of the fan - I give a white line to indicate roughly where.
The fans are coloured by gold metallic workers, and the edge pair are gold as well, making 4 pairs in all. The rest are white (although you could make it what you wanted). I have put in a backing ribbon which is only behind the central part of the lace. This makes another contrasting colour, and since it is a sparkly red ribbon, more bling! It is optional, though.
