Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
I liked pattern 188. Old lace was sometimes made of gold thread, so I wanted to try a pattern using modern metallic gold thread. This was the result, and I used it to trim the sleeves of a dress.

The pattern is simpler than pattern 188. There are only spiders rather than the occasional rose ground, and the headside is simpler. There are still plaits, crossing over each other with lazy joins, splitting up into single pairs, or rejoining to make plaits again, with joins - 2 pair + 1 pair.
The simpler headside has different proportions, less to-and-froing of workers, and there is a passive pair between the inner and the outer part of the headside.
