The start is along a diagonal, so one pair starts at each pin, and two at the edge. Above, I have marked the position of the false pins.

This design was an attempt to design a mandela pattern. The edge pair (which stays at the edge) was gold, which doesn't show up very well. Also I forgot that rose ground next to diamonds tends to turn them into crosses!
