Gravenmoer is a small village north-east of the city of Breda in the south of the Netherlands.
Gravenmoer diamonds and half stitch diamonds are similar, but the threads go in subtly different directions. This pattern has both, so you can examine the differences side by side. Gravenmoer diamonds are tricky to work, though, so I suggest that this is not a pattern for a beginner.

Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
Gravenmoer diamond are tricky. Click here to see how to do them.
The start of the lace is perhaps, slightly non-standard. There are two pinholes at the start in the middle, one at the top, and one in the footside. You need to start two pairs at each of these pins - one pair going left, and one going right. The diagonals have false starting pins.
