Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
When I first did a tailtail headside, I thought it looked like trees, so this is my attempt to make single fishtails. But there's a problem. For part of the failtail (near the edge), two pairs join the fishtail, and leave it. This doesn't happen with continuous fishtail, as they are joined together, and don't interact with the rest of the lace. I overcame this problem by taking two pairs across the fishtail as if they were a single pair. In the pattern, this is marked by a thicker grey line. The worker pair (dark green) works across both pairs in cloth stitch, and then are twisted. The two pairs are worked together in a half stitch after this. I admit it's a little tricky to remember when the passives are one pair, and when they're two! I made the outer passives into two pairs as well, just to balance things. They are pale blue pairs, and are worked into a plait to make an edge. It's supposed to represent the sky!
The footside varies between normal fotside, and Winkie pin, to get the dark green pair into the lace at the correct point to make the trees.
I started the lace by taking one of the pale blue pair as workers, and doing cloth stitch across all other pairs, and back again.
