This features the small blocks you sometimes find in Bucks Point lace. There is a Torchon lace version in pattern 577 for those who want to learn tallies, but don't know Bucks Point lace.

This is deliberately a simple pattern, to practise tallies. Often tallies are part of a more complicated pattern, so I wanted something very simple, with lots of tallies but nothing else! If you are used to Bucks Point, then you can start here. If not, start with Torchon Tallies, which also has more detailed descriptions of how to work the tallies.
I did find a problem at the start, as this is set in Bucks Point net. That means that at the start of the tally, each pair has just done three twists (as a Bucks Point net stitch is CTTT). This seem to be too much, and makes the start messy. So I untwisted twice for the pairs which are going into the tally. This is a bit complicated, so mnaybe this isn't th best pattern to start on!
Another problem was that the tallies have to be identical in length. I suspect it would be better to figure out the correct number of rows, and keep to it.
