Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. The hearts are actually just fans, but with the pin holes in different places to create a heart shape.
This garter deliberately uses very few bobbins, as this makes it quick to work. You are going to have to make a very long piece, for a garter, so this matters. But it does make it a narrow garter. It uses a narrow hole for the ribbon, so the ribbon will need to be narrow too.
The colour is perhaps over-elaborate! Click here for how to colour both the cloth and half stitch hearts red. The twisted fan and ground are different shades of blue because there is the saying that a bride should wear "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue." This would score two of those! You could, of course, make it all one colour or change the colours as you wish.
