Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. It may seem strange that the lovely flowing lines that make the spiral are merely thin strips, but I assure you - that is all they are! This circular grid makes straight lines into curves. Apart from starting and finishing, this is a very simple pattern to work, once you've worked out what's going on!

The start is along a diagonal, so one pair starts at each pin. Above, I have marked the false pins in pink. Click here to see how to start and work this type of circular shape. Click here for how to finish an edge.
Use any thread you want. Sparkly or metallic thread is lovely. But if you can't find any, then perhaps use a Christmas colour, like red or green. (Remember than green won't show up against a green Christmas tree!) Or yellow or orange to represent gold. Or just use white, and it is still pretty.
