Torchon lace - edging
The headside is part twisted fan headside (or Cluny edge) with little half stitch diamonds underneath. Then there are cloth stitch hearts and flowers with tallies. The net is rose ground. There is triple twisted winkie pin footside.
This lace has mostly Torchon elements, although there are tallies, and plaits in the headside.
This lace came from my aunt Margaret Packe (nee Drake). She said that the older pieces came from her grandmother, Ellen Buchanan (nee Barwise) born 1868.
