Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
This is a sampler of various different stitches. They are outlined with gimps, which is a Bucks Point technique, and the pattern features Kat stitch and honeycomb net, also Bucks Point. These look odd because the grid is square (Torchon) rather than hexagonal. You work them in the same way, but the hexagons and triangles come out rather elongated. The pattern for both is the same, but the colours show which is which. However, you can choose for yourself what stitches go within the gimps!
The start and end are made to look like footsides. This is done by starting the edge pairs and the footside passive pairs in one corner. Then one edge pair and one passive pair are worked across all others to get to the other side. This is done in cloth stitch and twist.
