Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
A correspondent asked me how to work a half stitch spider. I had never heard of such a thing! Together we worked something out, which I then found elsewhere as well. So I did this pattern to try it out. The 'normal' spiders (with a body of cloth stitch) are on the outside, with these new half stitch spider in the centre. The half stitch spiders were more distinctive than I thought they would be, so this pattern is quite attractive!
The Torchon ground has an extra twist between each stitch, as I wanted a tighter net. However, you could do conventional twist pair if you prefer.
