This is tidying up some ideas from pattern 587. I wanted to compare a Gravenmoer diamond to a diamond made of lattice stitch. I knew there were superficial similarities (there is a thread going downwards in each case) but were they obviously different? Also, I had discovered something I called star spider, and I wanted to try it out with lines of Torchon ground separating it.

Description:
Follow links to see how to work different parts.
Gravenmoer diamond to a diamond made of lattice stitch ARE completely different! The lattice stitch diamond is much more sparse.
The star spider is rather fun!
Close up of the lace, so you can see the working in more detail.
