The Geddes family

I am Joanna Edkins nee Dibblee, and I am known as Jo. My parents were John and Celia Dibblee. They did a fair amount of genealogical research of both their families as a retirement hobby. This part of my website gives the research into the Geddes family, my father's mother. Click here for more geneaology of my family.

The Geddes Family Tree - This can be used as another index to the individuals

You may note that there is a John Geddes III, IV and V, but no apparent John Geddes I or John Geddes II, although there is an unnumbered John Geddes. This is because my parents started this genealogical research, and gathered, from family tradition, that John Geddes (III) had a father and grandfather also called John Geddes. So they named these John Geddes I and John Geddes II, even though they could not discoiver anything about them. I have been informed by Bob King that while John Geddes III's grandfather was John Geddes, his father was George Geddes. The information is given here. Since I have used my parents numbering system throughout this website, I blench at renumbering everything! So I am going to leave John Geddes III as his current number, as well as subsequent John Geddeses.
