Pattern 147 and pattern 148 attempted to design Torchon lace Scottie dogs. This pattern concentrates of the had of the dogs, and attempts different breeds, perhaps not very successfully! The top one is a dog with floppy ears, possibly a labrador. Then we have the Scottie again. Then perhaps a terrier. Finally a long nosed dog like a grey hound.

Read about vertical and horizontal edges to see how to shape the dogs. Large amounts of solid cloth stitch tend to coggle.
The eyes of these dogs are made with raised tallies, which involves, of course, making tallies. These can be tricky.
You could, of course, just work one of the heads if you prefer.
